I HATE HATING MY WORK BUT I DO

vita1) Just noticed that Last.fm was a bit different. Since when did they add the panning photo's of the artists? I don't know, I think it's a bit frivolous!
2) Work was just HORRIBLE yesterday. If was a more emotional person I would have been in a fit of tears the whole time. I come onto the floor at and I see that there are like 15 call lights going. That is ALOT! I ask where the day shift aides are and why are they not answering the lights. I was informed by the nurse in the shift ahead of me that one aide (we'll call her Aide A) had worked all day then went on a 15 minute break outside for a smoke. Now this is against our work policy but it isn't a rule that is essential. You know what I'm saying? Anyway she returns from her 15 and the DON is waiting at the time clock for her and calls her into her office. Now I could completely understand if you're caught doing this to be reprimanded a bit but the bitch DON fired her!! For going outside on one of her breaks! Everyone was kind of mad about Aide A getting the boot but nobody said anything until the Staff Coordinator came down the hall and while discussing the events that just happened she let it out that the DON, RN Manager and Administrator knew yesterday that they were going to fire her. So they let her work ALL day then pull her into the office over some stupid shit and fire her. They is the lowest thing they could do in my opinion. So the other Aide that was on duty (Aide B) was working alone after the other aide got fired. It's hard work managing all those residents by yourself. Im sure she ran her ass off but around 1pm I guess she went to the bathroom quick. She comes out of the bathroom and again, there is "the bitch" She pulls Aide B into the office and belittles her that she shouldn't have gone to the bathroom because that leaves no one on the floor and how irresponsible that was and she mentions if she ever catches her going on break outside she will go the same way as Aide A. First off that is unprofessional to even mention that and 2) Aide B doesn't even smoke! Aide B tried to explain that and the bitch said "I don't have time for your sniveling" (this I heard, the rest is second hand from the day nurse) Aide B said "You know what, take this goddamn job and shove it." I wanted to applaud but I didn't dare say a thing. So day's are out of two of the best aides we had because the DON bitch feels like she needs to prove herself. I am so frustrated with that place these days. I just dread going to work. I am actually looking at applying at another nursing home on the other side of town. It's a bit of a hell hole but at least you don't get belittled :\
